Barefoot Treeless Saddles introduced VPS, Vertebrae Protection System, in the Fall of 2008. VPS consists of laminated foams of different densities.

With VPS, you can have both a soft, comfortable seat, and enough firmness under the stirrup attachment points to prevent pressure points. Tougher materials absorb pressure even better for a consistently clear, distinguished gullet and increased weight distribution and shock absorption. The stiffer foams deep in the saddle do a great job of distributing weight, so the Barefoot is currently the only treeless saddle worldwide that has no weight limitation! The new VPS saddles will take a little longer to settle but will mold to your shape in a few weeks.
